2.0 Conference Outline The conference began with a welcome and introductions, an offering of gratitude to First Nations People for use of their land, and an apology for scheduling the conference on Yom Kippur. A brief description of what was meant by the term transgendered was given by a transgendered participant. An introductory round followed in which each delegate was asked to speak about one time in their home, school, health, street or relationship life in which they felt unsafe, as a lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgendered person, and to note one thing that would have made that situation safer. Conference delegates were then given the option of participating in one of four streams: violence, health, education, and youth. Each of these streams, while approaching their task in different ways, explored issues and solutions related to their topic area. Each developed recommendations for further action, and presented these recommendations at the closing conference plenary.Lunchtime presentations were also given by :
